The society in which we reside contains a long list of social evils. Though we want to root each and every societal discrepancy out, only a handful of these can be dealt with. Enactus BVCOE operate under a rapid plan of action which consists of extensive Research and Development, Operations and identifying the project's future prospects. We are partners with certain NGO's and organizations that provide us with support to strengthen the society. Our ongoing projects are:
In our country, it's a common notion that women are supposed to carry out all the household chores. Due to this, they become dependent on their spouse for all there financial requirements. Understanding the gravity of this situation, Enactus BVCOE decided to embark on a journey to change this notion.
Our plan of action
Initially starting with a batch of five impoverished yet energetic women, we provided them with basic training to carry out tasks through which they can earn their livelihood. In our case, it was hair dressing, waxing and make-up. Not only that, we instilled them with business sense in order to promote social entrepreneurship. We faced a lot of difficulties during our operational phase. But as it is said, a strong will is what it takes to make the difference. After four months of perseverance and hard work, these women were successfully ready to take off with help of their newly acquired skill-sets which consisted off:
Fluency in English
In order to carry forward the legacy, we have appointed these women as our Ambassador's for Change. Along with us, they carry out sessions and workshops to help other women who are currently at the same stage, on which they stood a couple of months back. Our vision is to create a community full of women who are self-reliant because they collectively will become the Beacon of Success for generations to come.
Even though making such drastic technological advancements, it's a shame that our country is still facing a crisis in the field of Women Sanitaion. Millions of women still use an ordinary piece of cloth which is the bearer of deadly diseases. The sad part is that they are not even aware about the grave situation in which they are. Our organization takes this responsibilty upon us to not only spread awareness about the ill-effects but to provide inexpensive alternative too.
Our plan of action
Enactus BVCOE created a sanitary pad that is good in quality yet inexpensive. The material used in creation of pad is soft in feel and durable in nature. The task was not easy to perform as we had to break the age-old perception about the usage of cloth along with convincing them about the durability and usability of our product. What made it a near impossible task was the reluctance shown by women to even talk about it. But because of our team's far-sightedness, we were able to finally convince a group of 70 women to use our sanitary pads, initially for free of cost. The project is still ongoing and we hope it to be a success.
We are constantly carrying out workshops at schools located in slum areas. Not only that, we are looking for future prospects that can yeild us with even better quality of sanitary pads at competitive prices. We wish to spread our initiative in each and every slum, so that women can lead a respectable life.
